Nicholasville police officer involved in collision


NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Nicholasville police officer was involved in a collision Friday.

Police say it happened after 5 Friday afternoon at the corner of Main Street and Barnes Street.

According to police, the officer was driving down Main Street, responding to a robbery call, when the other vehicle involved pulled out of the Cottage Cafe parking lot, hitting the officer.

Police say there were no serious injuries, but the officer and a passenger from the other vehicle were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Main Street was shut down between Barnes Street and Richmond Avenue for around four hours.

The road reopened around 9:30 p.m., according to Nicholasville Police.
