Interstate 75 in Whitley County shut down due to fuel spill

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Officials in Whitley County say I-75 in both directions is shut down due to a two vehicle collision.

They say it happened early Tuesday morning near mile markers 15-25.

According to the transportation cabinet it will be shut down for several hours due to fuel that has spilled.

Northbound traffic is being detoured at exit 15 and southbound traffic is being detoured at exit 25. It is expected to reopen today at noon, according to officials.

• I-75 Northbound detour information: Traffic is being detoured at exit 15; take left onto U.S. 25 and follow U.S. 25 back to I-75 on ramp 25 in Corbin.

• I-75 Southbound detour information: Traffic is being detoured at exit 25; take right onto U.S. 25 and follow U.S. 25 back to I-75 on ramp 15 in Williamsburg.

No word on injuries.
