CLEATON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Muhlenberg County constable is accused of taking a bribe in exchange for allowing an inmate in his custody to escape, according to State Police.
Investigators say Constable Willie Parker accepted a bribe from Kelly Dooley, the girlfriend of inmate Anthony White.
State Police say after the bribe, Parker allowed White to escape while driving him from the courthouse to the jail in June of this year.
Today, a Muhlenberg County Grand Jury returned an indicted against Constable Parker, Dooley and White on charges of Bribery of a Public Servant and Escape by Complicity.
Constable Parker was arrested and lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center, according to KSP. Investigators say Dooley and White were already in jail when the indictment was returned.
