Lexington lights the city’s Christmas Tree


LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Santa Claus turned the key to light Lexington’s official Christmas Tree Friday night in Triangle Park downtown.

In addition to the tree lighting ceremony, Lexington kicked off its holiday season with a Holiday Artist’s Market, Christmas music and the opening of the Unified Trust Company ice rink downtown.  The rink will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.  A 90-minute skating session costs $12.00, including skate rental.  The rink will be open through mid-January.  For more information visit www.triangleparklexington.com.

‘Luminate Lexington’ on Friday was presented by Kentucky Utilities Company.

Lexington’s Christmas Parade, presented by MetroPCS, will be held Tuesday, December 5, at 7:00 p.m.  The parade will be on Main Street, between Midland Avenue and Mill Street.  The review stand will be on Main Street near North Limestone Street.  Parade entries are being accepted until Friday, December 1, and can be found at www.downtownlex.com.
