ASHLAND, Ky. (WTVQ) – A double murder in Lawrence County has led to the arrest of one man.
Kentucky State Police say they were contacted at around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday about a possible shooting at a home at 6330 Yellow Creek Road.
When they arrived, they say they found 35-year-old Randy Sherman Blevins dead from multiple gunshot wounds. As officers began clearing the area, they say they located a second victim, 50-year-old Mary Evans-Smith, dead from a fatal gunshot wound.
State police say 21-year-old Elden Shannon Muncy was later arrested in Martin County and charged with two counts of murder.
Investigators say Muncy, Blevins and Evans-Smith knew each other.
Muncy is currently in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
