LPD looking for woman they say is digging up shrubs, removing lights

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police are investigating a vandalism case they are calling “bizarre.”

They say in late September, a homeowner on Estrella Drive called them to say there was damage to her landscaping.

A home surveillance video showed a woman approaching the front door of the house on September 23. The woman can be seen moving a welcome mat from the front porch then damaging a shrub.

According to the victim, neighbors had noticed other unusual activity that weekend, including light bulbs removed from garage and porch lights.

A worker at a home under construction across the street told police a stove was missing and two bushes had been dug out of the ground.

Police say the timing and the proximity of the incidents lead them to believe the same suspect is involved.

The police department is asking anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information to contact them at 859-258-3600.

Anonymous tips, including photos and videos, can be submitted by texting LEXPD plus the tip to CRIMES (274637). Information can also be sent anonymously through Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at (859) 253-2020 or www.bluegrasscrimestoppers.com.
