BEATTYVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – One of two Lee County escapees was captured early Wednesday evening, according to State Police.
Investigators say 34-year old Stevie Hayes, of Rogers, was caught not far from where he escaped from on KY 498 near Fairground Ridge Road.
State Police say the other escapee, 42-year old Chris Spencer, of Beattyville, is still at-large.
Investigators say the two escaped from a Wolfe County transport van around noon Wednesday while being taken back to jail from court appearances in Wolfe County.
KSP says Chris Spencer is described as a slender white male with brown hair and 6’ 3” tall. He was last seen wearing a hooded flannel shirt and jeans in the area of Rader Ridge Road between Spencer Ridge Road and KY-1209.
