Nicholasville Police began the investigation that eventually included the U.S. Secret Service and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Investigators say Johnson admitted to making and selling bogus $10, $20, $50 and $100 bills.  They say he personally and through others tried to pass the fake money at area retail businesses and fast food restaurants.

Under federal law, Johnson must serve 85% of his prison sentence before being eligible for parole and will be under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office for three years after his release from prison.
