LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Solid Blue fans have been camping out since Wednesday for a chance to attend open practice for University of Kentucky Basketball.
At 2 p.m. Friday fans will get their control cards – which they’ll need to get free Big Blue Madness tickets Friday at 10 p.m.
One of the first fans in line to get those tickets will be Irvin ‘Pig’ Brown of Russell County.
It was two years ago at the same event that Brown was trampled while trying to cross the street to get a spot inside of tent city.
Brown told ABC 36 that for the last seven years he has been trying to get the number on spot.
Wednesday he finally got there with the help of Anthony Eakles and his family who are second in line.
“He was walking back across the road and didn’t get any tickets two years ago. He had a bloody face, a busted mouth, and nose,” said Eakles.
Eakles says he stayed in touch with Brown over the last two years and wanted to help him achieve his dream.
“It makes me feel great. I met him and he’s a friend of mine and will be forever. I really appreciate him and his son,” said Brown.
Big Blue Madness is on October 13th and will air live on the SEC network at 7 p.m.
