Happy first full day of fall! Temperatures topped out in the upper 80s with plenty of sunshine this afternoon. It was a bit on the muggy side though. Tonight there will be enough lingering moisture to allow for spotty fog to develop mainly in low lying areas. Lows tonight will fall in the low 60s under clear skies. More sunshine is on the way Sunday with highs back in the upper 80s. It will feel less muggy through the day. Sunshine is expected through the next work week with temperatures beginning to feel more fall like by the end of the week. For now and to start the week, high pressure remains in control. By mid to late week, a strong cold front will move through. It looks to bring rain to central states, but run into drier air as it pushes east. This will limit the amount of rain we see locally. In fact, right now, it looks like we should mainly stay dry. The front will impact temperatures by a good 15 to 20 degrees by the end of next week. We’ll finish the weekend and start the work week with highs in the upper 80s. Mid 80s are expected Wednesday before they drop into the upper 70s Thursday. Low 70s move in by Friday with temperatures in the upper 60s by next weekend.
