Lexington marks 11th anniversary of Comair Flight 5191 crash

Comair 5191 Memorial at UK Arboretum

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Several people in Lexington marked a solemn anniversary Sunday.

11 years ago, Comair Flight 5191 crashed near the Blue Grass Airport during takeoff.

The crash killed 49 people, leaving a sole survivor.

There was no official service Sunday, but some people visited the memorial at UK’s Arboretum and left flowers.
