Officers say he ran to his house on Second street, to get help, and was taken to UK hospital where he later died. Responding patrol officers stopped 19-year-old Marvell Lacy, of Memphis, and a 16-year-old male, who were seen fleeing the scene.

Both are now charged with murder. Detectives say Lacy and the juvenile were directly connected with the shooting. Along with Jemel Barber and another 16-year-old male. A 16-year-old female has reportedly been identified as the getaway driver.

Investigators say the five had allegedly targeted a house on Race Street for a robbery. They say there was an exchange of gunfire in the house and the suspects continued shooting as they fled. Investigators had previously charged Barber with murder in the fatal July 23rd shooting at the Days Motel on Versailles Road.

Police say they also believe the five suspects were tied to a robbery that happened in the Winburn neighborhood shortly before the Race Street shooting. A search continues now for one of the 16-year-old suspects.
