Temporary closure of the ‘Singing Bridge’ in Frankfort

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The ‘Singing Bridge’ in downtown Frankfort will be temporarily closed Friday.  The City of Frankfort road department will be performing routine maintenance on the flood gates.

The ‘Singing Bridge’, which carries US 60X across the Kentucky River, will be closed on Friday, August 25 from 6:30 p.m. until 9: 30 p.m.

Motorists must utilize the Capital Avenue Bridge to cross the river.

In addition, KYTC has granted a permit to the Frankfort Plant Board for a lane closure on the ‘Singing Bridge’ to allow for lighting repairs. US 60X will be reduced to one lane to allow for this work. The lane closure is scheduled for Tuesday, August 29 and Wednesday, August 30 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day. Traffic flow through this area will be controlled by flagging operations.
