Deputies: Knox Co. man arrested for nearly hitting deputies vehicle


KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Knox County man nearly hits a deputies vehicle with a stolen truck then takes off, according to officials.

Knox County deputies say they were leaving the parking lot of Wildcat Market in Flat Creek when a vehicle came toward one of the patrol cars. They say the driver, 36-year-old Thomas Gray nearly hit the patrol car then took off.

Officials say they attempted to stop the vehicle but he refused. Gray crashed the stolen 2008 Ford pick-up truck and fled on foot, according to authorities.

After a search of the area, deputies say they located and arrested Gray on Evergreen Road. During the arrest officials say a stolen EBT card was found in his possession.

Investigators say Gray was charged with Attempted Murder/Police Officer, Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police-1st Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police-2nd Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under Aggravating Circumstances, No Operator License, Fraudulent Insurance Acts-over $500, Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition/Auto and Know/Fraudulent Use ID Card.

Gray was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
