LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police say an officer was forced to taser a man who came toward him with a knife.
A court document says the officer was driving on East Vine Street at around 9:15 p.m. Sunday when he spotted two men fighting in the middle of the street.
The officer says one of the men was standing over the other, punching him with one hand and holding a knife with the other.
When the officer told the man to stop and get on the ground, he says the suspect, 57-year-old Stanley Sosbe Jr., came toward him with the knife.
That’s when the officer says he used his taser on Sosbe.
Police say the victim was cut but his injuries are minor.
Sosbe is charged with assault and public intoxication.
