LPD: Suspect in drive-by-shooting to be arraigned Friday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man arrested for a drive-by shooting that critically injured a child last month is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at 1 p.m.

According to the Lexington Police, Carlos Jenkins was arrested for shooting an 11-year-old girl during her birthday sleepover off of Carneal Road.

Police say the house was hit over 30 times.

Several children and adults were inside the home when the shooting occurred, according to authorities.

Investigators say Jenkins is charged with assault 1st and 7 counts of wanton endangerment 1st degree.

Jenkins is currently housed at the Fayette County Detention Center on additional unrelated domestic charges, according to police.
