LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man is charged with arson, accused of pouring gasoline all around the outside of a Lexington home.
Court documents say 37-year-old Ron Ellis, Jr. went to the home on Halstead Court on March 18 and got into a fight with a woman in the home.
Documents say another woman came home and saw Ellis with a machete knife. When she asked him was was going on, she tells police he left.
According to documents, the woman says 20 minutes later, there was a strong gasoline smell all around the home. She says she went outside and saw Ellis holding a gasoline can and dousing the back door with gasoline. She says when she asked him what he was doing, he ran off, carrying the gas can.
