LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The right lane and shoulder are scheduled to be closed on northbound I-75 in Laurel County beginning Tuesday, June 20, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
The closures are scheduled to remain in place until July 19, 2017, according to the state.
A traffic shift will occur near the Rest Haven at mile point 34, allowing traffic to use the two left lanes (inside shoulder near barrier wall, and fast lane). Ramp traffic will also be routed to the left lanes.
The right lane and right shoulder closures are necessary to allow contractors to perform milling and asphalt operations.
Also, I-75 southbound (milepoints 34-41) will continue to have a left lane and left shoulder closure due to contractors performing milling and asphalt operations.
The current work is a part of the $8.5 million I-75 pavement rehabilitation project.
KYTC asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect delays and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.
The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
Motorists can access travel and traffic conditions at http://goky.ky.gov or contribute their own reports at www.waze.com or via the Waze mobile application.
