FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Garrard County man was found guilty Thursday, a year after his arrest in a child sex case, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
After a two-day trial, a Franklin County jury found 59-year old Jeffrey Scott Turner, of Lancaster, guilty of seeking sex with a minor.
Attorney General Andy Beshear says Turner will be sentenced to 3-years in prison and must complete sex offender treatment before his release. He will also be required to be on the sex offender registry for 20-years, according to Beshear.
Last year, the attorney general’s Cyber Crimes Unit launched a three-week investigation aimed at Turner’s online activity. Turner was arrested June 9, 2016, by the Garrard County Sheriff’s Office.
