LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A peace walk is being held Friday evening at Winburn Cafe in honor of a Lexington man Family and friends of a Lexington man shot and killed last year.
The family of James Blair is hosting the peace walk on what would have been Blair’s 28th birthday.
Police believe Blair was gunned down last October in the parking lot of Chase Bank on East Main Street.
Officers say Blair was dropped off at a nearby hospital and later died at UK hospital.
No one was ever charged for Blair’s murder, but some believe the main suspect was 27-year-old Mark Boguzsewski, of Louisville, who was shot and killed himself in Nicholasville last Friday.
Lexington police have not denied the two cases are connected, investigators telling ABC 36 they have, “kept the Blair family in the loop, and they know where things stand.”
The Blair family says Boguzsewski’s death is not justice for Blair’s murder, but rather means more children will grow up without a father.
They say they hope today’s peace walk will remind people that violence is not a solution.
