LFCHD receives grant to promote awareness, prevent diabetes in Fayette Co.


LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two Lexington-Fayette County Health Department (LFCHD) employees are being credited for shoring up the department’s diabetes program with a $2,500 dollar grant.

Tara Mason and Tami Ross completed the application for the grant, which will allow them to work with the Fayette County Diabetes Coalition to promote diabetes awareness in Fayette County.

The grant money will also be used to increase focus on the prevention of diabetes.

LFCHD says the coalition has projects planned for community Diabetes Risk Tests, included targeted testing for high-risk populations.
