Lindsey Hughes Thurston and Nanci House, with the Chrysalis House, stop by the studio to tell Katie Solove about a few upcoming events hosted by the organization.
Chrysalis House is Kentucky’s oldest and largest licensed treatment program for women with substance use disorders. The organization specializes in pregnant and parenting women, allowing mothers to keep their babies and toddlers with them while in treatment. Older children spend the night on the weekends and the whole family may reunite when they move into one a Chrysalis House apartment.
This is the 6th year Chrysalis House has hosted a Mother’s Day Luncheon. It will be held on May 11, 11:30am-1pm, and will honor Martha Helen Smith and celebrate mothers in our community who work every day to make healthy choices for their families. Tenor Gregory Turay, accompanied by Dr. Tedrin Blair Lindsay, will provide a beautiful music performance. Lunch will be catered by the Apiary. The event is currently sold out.
Then, the R. J. Corman 5K Run/Walk will be held May 20, at 9:00am at the R. J. Corman Corporate Headquarters, in Nicholasville. The run features a beautiful course, thousands of dollars in cash prizes, and a lunch hot off the grill catered by My Old Kentucky Dinner Train Executive Chef, plus – homemade ice cream!!
