BAILEY SWITCH, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Knox County Sheriff says a woman had an unexpected visitor when she returned to her home on Wednesday.
The Sheriff says his office received a complaint call at around 2:00 p.m. after the woman reported that when she arrived at her home on KY 229, the back door was open, and a man had apparently passed out in her bed.
When deputies arrived, the man was still asleep. Investigators woke him up, and identified him as 31-year-old Kevin Malone.
As deputies continued their investigation, they say they found several plastic baggies on Malone, containing marijuana, crystal methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and 23 Gabapentin tablets, along with a set of digital scales and more than $4,000 in cash.
Deputies say they also found a handgun in Malone’s vehicle outside the home.
Malone reportedly told officers he knew the son of the woman who lived in the home.
Malone was arrested and charged with burglary, trafficking in controlled substances, and possession. Due to being a convicted felon, Malone was also charged with possession of a firearm.
He was taken to the Knox County Detention Center.
