LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The city is encouraging drivers to find alternate routes starting Tuesday, May 2, as the primary lanes of Wilson Downing Road near Tates Creek Centre will shift over into what is regularly the right turn lane into the shopping center.
The lane shift, which will be made sometime after 9 a.m. Tuesday, is being made as crews work to reconstruct the original section of the bridge, which was built in the early 1960s.
The left turn lane onto Tates Creek Centre Drive will remain open.
The entrance to the Tates Creek Centre will remain open, as will the entrance to Starbucks and the University of Kentucky Federal Credit Union.
The partial closure of the bridge will continue until the reconstruction work is completed. A completion date won’t be clear until work begins and the full scope of the project is known.
