UPDATE: Additional remains found in Trigg Co. investigation

CADIZ, Ky. (WTVQ) -Kentucky State Police have released additional information on human remains that were found in Trigg County Tuesday afternoon.

Troopers say a human skull was found on a property along Oak Grove Church Road.  Investigators began searching nearby properties for further evidence, and say they found a woman’s body in a wooded area overnight.  Troopers say the remains are believed to be related to the skull found earlier.

The skull and body will be taken to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, which will confirm if the two are related, as well as the cause and date of death.

Suspected human remains found in Trigg County

Suspected human remains were found Tuesday in Trigg County, according to State Police.

Investigators say a property owner found the remains along Oak Grove Church Road.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office will determine if the remains are human and if so, try to determine an identity, cause and manner of death.

Several properties in the area where the remains were found were searched by State Police, along with dogs from Pulaski County, Illinois Search and Rescue.

Investigators are looking for further evidence in the case, according to KSP.
