CLARKSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Vanceburg man died Wednesday morning after a car crash, according to KSP.
Kentucky State Police say there was a two-vehicle collision on the AA highway at Clarksburg just before seven thirty Wednesday morning.
Troopers believe Brandon Yates, 35, was heading east on the roadway when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with another driver, Dalton Cooper, 22.
The collision happened on the westbound shoulder of the roadway, according to KSP.
Both men were extracted from their respective vehicles by rescue workers utilizing the Jaws of Life.
Yates was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lewis County Coroner. Cooper was airlifted from the scene to Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia where he is listed in stabled condition.
Traffic was rerouted for a couple hours while the road was closed so KSP could investigate. It reopened around ten.
