FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Power has been restored to utility customers in Franklin and Scott counties, according to the Franklin County sheriff.
Tuesday afternoon a fuse failed in an east Frankfort substation, knocking out power to an estimated 3,200 Kentucky Utilities customers in eastern Franklin and western Scott counties, according to KU.
The power was off for 80-minutes, according to the utility company.
The substation is one of the feeds to the Frankfort municipal system, so most of the City of Frankfort was dark, including the State Capitol, according to Kentucky Utilities.
The singing bridge in Frankfort was closed during the outage so vehicles wouldn’t be stuck on the bridge.
Police directed traffic at major intersections where the signals were dark.
