Katie Solove sits down with actors Savannah Cooper and Justin Bentley, with SCAPA, to talk about their upcoming production of the hilarious, Tony-award winning musical, “The Drowsy Chaperone.”
“The Drowsy Chaperone” is a loving send-up of the Jazz Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another. Hailed by New York Magazine as “The Perfect Broadway Musical,” The Drowsy Chaperone is a masterful meta-musical farce, poking hilarious fun at all the beloved tropes that characterize the musical theatre genre. The plot centers around a starlet, the stage, a wedding and a scheme that will keep you in stitches.
Performances run from March 23rd through Saturday, March 25th, with shows at 7:00 p.m. nightly, and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Lexington Opera House, located at 401 W. Short Street in Lexington.
