LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Both directions of Old Frankfort Pike have been shut down between South Forbes Road and Phillips Lane due to a large oil spill, according to Lexington Traffic Management.
Officials say they expect the road to remain closed as late as 7 to 8 p.m.
Lexington Police say a Fayette County Public School bus blew an engine and leaked 12-gallons of oil onto Old Frankfort Pike. No one was hurt.
An environmental cleanup crew was called-in the clean up the spill.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
