LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Students from Lexington Christian Academy, along with Mayor Jim Gray and Councilmember Amanda Mays Bledsoe, were on-hand Thursday morning at the school as Lexington new community flag was unveiled.

The flag, a blue horse on a white background, was adopted from VisitLex, which promoted Lexington tourism, as a community spirit flag.

The push for a new city flag began after a group of eighth-graders visited the Urban County Council in December with ideas for a new city flag design.

While the Lexington flag featuring the city seal will continue to be the city’s official flag, Councilmember Bledsoe says the blue horse flag is available to anyone.
