LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in Lexington say a 12-year-old girl may have saved the life of a man suffering from a drug overdose Wednesday morning.
Officers say they were called to an apartment on Willard Street just after 9:00 a.m. on a report that a man had overdosed. A second call about another man suffering an overdose in an apartment across the street came in only a few minutes later.
Police say the 12-year-old girl made the first call to police, and that she administered CPR on the overdosing victim until police arrived.
Naloxone was used on both men to counter the effects of the overdoses. Both were taken to the hospital. Officers say they believe heroin was responsible for the overdoses.
