LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Homeless clients at Hope Center will participate in a unique event on Wednesday, May 15th, called “On the Table.”
Organized by the Blue Grass Community Foundation, “On the Table” aims to bring Lexington residents together to talk, collaborate, and take an active role in the shaping of Lexington’s future.
Among the many conversations being held across the city, the event will include both men and women, gathering around four or five tables at the George Privett Recovery Center’s conference room, to talk about their experiences in Lexington and listen to others. Participants will include people in the Hope Center’s Veterans Program, Mental Health Program, and both Recovery Programs for men and women. Staff will be hosting each table and helping to get conversations started.
“This will be a fun way for our clients to be able to be a part of planning the future of Lexington,” said Carrie Thayer. Director of Development for the Hope Center. “Having experienced extreme hardships, they can give a good perspective about our city and about how we can improve. We are excited to hear their input and to pass it on to our community leaders.”
Hope Center’s On the Table will be held at the George Privett Recovery Center’s conference room in Lexington from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Water, coffee, tea and light refreshments provided by the George Privett Recovery Center’s kitchen.
