ARLINGTON, Ky. (AP) – Police say one person has died in a crash that occurred on a slick western Kentucky highway.
Kentucky State Police said in a statement that it’s not clear if the weather contributed to Monday’s crash on U.S. Highway 51 in Carlisle County, but investigators noted that the road was slick from snow when it happened.
Police say a preliminary investigation found that 67-year-old Raymond C. Wilson of Gleason, Tennessee, was driving a tractor-trailer north when the vehicle crossed into the southbound land and collided with a Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 74-year-old Sandra K. Fronabarger of Wickliffe, Kentucky. Fronabarger was pronounced dead at the scene and Wilson was taken to a local hospital.
The National Weather Service in Paducah said light snowfall early Monday was expected to turn to rain as temperatures increased in the afternoon.
