FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- The daughter of an elderly woman found laying in animal feces was charged with neglect on Tuesday, according to officials.
The Franklin County Sheriff says last month they responded to Heather Rash’s home and found her 75-year-old mother lying in a floor that was covered with animal feces.
Deputies tell ABC 36 that Rash was supposed to be taking care of her.
Officials say 18 cats and nine dogs living inside the home.
“Might have been a few spots of mange here and there, but generally speaking, the condition of the animals was pretty good,” said Deputy Chris Eaton. “The conditions for the humans there though, altogether a different story. It was the worst I’ve seen in 13 years of law enforcement.”
Heather Rash was charged with animal cruelty and neglect of an adult, according to deputies.
