LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A new Salvation Army location has opened at 2285 Versailles Road in Lexington.
A press release says the store is designed to improve the shopping experience for its customers and includes 13,000 square feet of shopping space filled with bargain-priced clothing, household items, electronics, books, toys, furniture, and collectibles. Wednesday is being designated as “Family Day,” where shoppers will find discount specials.
The new store creates more than 20 new jobs in the area, and will also make it possible for The Salvation Army to provide better assistance for people in the community who are struggling with alcohol, drugs, and other life issues, as revenues from the Family Store will support the charity’s rehabilitation center. The rehabilitation center offers services free of charge.
Vouchers for free furniture or clothing are available for families in need through Salvation Army programs.
Tax receipts will be provided for any donations received during store hours, Monday-Friday from 9a.m.-9p.m.
Donations can be dropped off in the bins in the parking lot after hours.
