RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – A burn ban in Madison County that had been in effect since November 17th was lifted Thursday morning, on the recommendation of the Madison Co. Fire Chief.
Residents are reminded that the lifting of the ban down not override the current Kentucky Forestry Burn Ban.
Controlled burns of natural, non-man made products can be burned outside. The following burns are not authorized, per EPA regulations.
- Any man made product, including but not limited to, household trash, painted and treated wood, shingles, construction materials, plastics, commercial cardboard, and tires.
- Any business burning as a form of income is strictly prohibited (ex: landscape, pallet companies, construction sites, etc.)
