JUNCTION CITY, Ky. (WTVQ) – An undercover investigation on the Internet led to the arrest of a Boyle County man in a child pornography case, according to State Police.
The State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested 44-year old Gene Pendygraft, of Junction City, on Tuesday, on charges related to the distribution and possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor, according to KSP.
State Police say the investigation began after discovering Pendygraft was reportedly sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.
Investigators executed a search warrant at Pendygraft’s home and seized equipment reportedly used in the crime. The equipment was sent to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing, according to State Police.
Pendygraft is currently charged with one count of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor, nine counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor and possession of firearm by convicted felon, according to KSP.
Each charge is a Class-D felony punishable by one to five years in prison.
Pendygraft was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center. Additional charges are expected.
