LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Friends and family of a teen killed in Lexington last week are trying to raise money for burial costs.
Angel Juarez, 14, was killed on Thanksgiving.
Police say he was shot several times when he opened the door to his home on Henton Way. Investigators believe the shooting happened because of a fight between Kevin Garcia, 23, and Juarez’s older brother. They say Garcia was trying to confront the brother at the home but killed Juarez instead.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with funeral costs. Click here to access the page. Embrace Methodist Church of Lexington is also accepting donations, which can be given online at https://embracechurch.cloverdonations.com/juarez-family-fund/.
Friends of Juarez are posting on social media that there will be a candle light vigil of Juarez at Thompson Park next Sunday at one o’clock in the afternoon.
Garcia remains in jail in West Virginia. Lexington police say he will be extradited back here, but there is no word on when that will happen
