LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Kentucky Blood Center in Lexington says the Wildcats are ahead of Tennessee in the annual Big Blue Crush blood drive. It says the score Monday was 515 to 453.
Big Blue Crush helps make sure blood banks have the supplies they need during the holidays.
“It was a great first day,” said Martha Osborne, KBC’s Executive Director of Marketing and Recruitment. “We hope to see more of the Big Blue Nation come out this week and continue to show the Vols we can beat them off the field when it comes to saving lives.”
Everyone who registers to give blood during Big Blue Crush will receive a free t-shirt. They’ll also have the chance to win a pair of tickets to watch the Cats and the Cardinals play on November 26.
KBC says donor centers will have special hours during the contest. It says it will stay open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Big Blue Crush runs through Friday, November 18.
