LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Johnny Carino’s Hoops for Hope will be held at Rupp Arena on Thursday, November 10 from 5 to 8:30 pm at Rupp Arena.
“This is a very unique event for the Hope Center, where the community can come together in a special way by shooting baskets at Rupp Arena while at the same time showing their support for those who battle addiction, mental illness and homelessness,” said Cecil Dunn, Executive Director of the Hope Center.
Teams of four compete with forty other area corporate and community teams in a five-minute shoot-off. Each team has the chance to win two competitions: one for the most points scored, and another for the team who raises the most funds for the Hope Center. Former UK players and other guests will be a part of the event.
The Hope Center invites all members of the community go to hopectr.org, support their favorite team and to come and watch and support the teams competing to benefit the Hope Center. Non-participants can also support teams by supporting a team online. Everyone is to enter through the back loading dock Rupp Entrance. The main doors will not be open.
Johnny Carino’s Hoops for Hope is presented by Johnny Carino’s and this will be the fourth year of the event. In the past three years, over $65,000 has been raised to help the homeless and addicted with life-rebuilding programs.
