LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Laurel County Sheriff John Root credits a K-9 unit in the arrest of three people after a drug bust netted over 2 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, and thousands of dollars.
The Sheriff says 58-year-old Rick Bowling, 43-year-old Michelle Savage, and 54-year-old Kenny Jones were arrested at a mobile home off Grecy’s Road at about 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
The Sheriff says investigators executed a search warrant after developing information on a large scale drug trafficking organization in the area.
In the search, assisted by the Sheriff’s Office’s new K-9 unit, “Edge,” deputies found the meth, over $16,000 dollars, pills, marijuana, scales, handguns and other firearms.
Rick Bowling was charged with trafficking, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, as was Michelle Savage. Kenny Jones received charges of possession, public intoxication, and promoting contraband when he took two needles to jail.
All three were taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
