LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)-Police say at least three suspects were involved in the robbery Thursday night. One of them is due to appear in court tomorrow afternoon. He’s 20-year-old Demetrioun Boaz. He turned himself into police Friday after a warrant was put out for his arrest. He’s currently charged with robbery and is being held in jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
Police say he and at least two other men, all armed with handguns, robbed a town home on the corner of Red Mile Road and Unity Drive. Police say a 19-year-old suspect who remains in the hospital was shot five times by a friend of one of the people living in the home. Police say a 22-year-old man inside was also accidentally shot in the back, and was in stable condition as of Thursday night. A third suspect barricaded himself on the third floor of the home, which led to a standoff between police for several hours. But he escaped through a window.
Police say the suspect with five gun shot wounds in the hospital and the one still on the lose will face a charge of robbery and possibly more charges as the investigation is still ongoing.
