BURNSIDE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A mayor in Pulaski County has made an unusual request of residents in the area.
Burnside Mayor Ron Jones is asking people to flush their toilets more often.
He says when people don’t flush, the city’s collection tank doesn’t fill up as often, meaning the waste water doesn’t get pumped out and starts to smell.
According to Jones, people are reluctant to flush their toilets because they don’t want see their water bills go up.
He says, however, it will not cost that much to flush more.
