FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – On Tuesday, Attorney General Andy Beshear and his Cyber Crimes Unit announced the arrest of a Richmond man, accused of seeking sex with a minor.
24-year-old Ryan Lee Roberts, of Richmond, was arrested October 6th. Cyber investigators say Roberts was the target of an undercover investigation that began after he posted an online ad soliciting a minor for sex. Cyber Crimes officials say Roberts then began an online conversation with an undercover investigator, posing as a minor.
According to the Attorney General, Roberts asked the undercover agent to engage in sexual acts and to send graphic photos, while at the same time sending several unsolicited photos of himself.
Investigators say they were able to locate Roberts at his job, and took him into custody. According to Cyber Crimes officials, he admitted to asking the person he knew to be a minor to send sexual photos.
Roberts was arrested and taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
