HAZARD, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a man who was discovered in his apartment dead on Wednesday, October 5th was murdered.
Troopers say they were called to an apartment complex on Mountain Breeze Road in Jenkins at about 1:45 p.m. after receiving a 911 call about a body being found.
When they arrived, they discovered 50-year-old Michael Lowe deceased in his apartment. Police say family members went to check on Lowe after not hearing from him for a few days, and found him unresponsive.
Lowe was pronounced dead at the scene by the Letcher County coroner, from what appeared to be multiple stab wounds.
An autopsy at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort revealed that the wounds did not appear to be self-inflicted.
