Frankfort PD looking for suspects in restaurant armed robbery

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in Frankfort are looking for help from the public developing leads on an armed robbery that happened early Sunday morning.

Officers say at around 12:15 a.m. they were called to the Little Caesars Pizza on Versailles Road, where employees told them that two armed men had come into the restaurant just after closing, ordered everyone to the ground, and then made one employee open the store safe at gunpoint.  The two men then made all the employees get into the walk-in freezer, before running off with an unknown amount of cash and one of the employees’ cell phone.

Investigators brought in a K-9 unit and were able to track the suspects to a nearby neighborhood, but then lost the track.  Officers say, however, they did find the stolen cell phone and some cash.

Police say the two suspects were wearing ski masks and were armed with different types of firearms.
