LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The state breaks ground today on the new Blue Grass Stockyards.
The new facility is located on Iron Works Pike.

The groundbreaking comes just seven months after a massive fire destroyed the original facility and damaged several nearby businesses.
The fire department says it was started by sparks from a construction worker’s saw.
The location for the new facility was selected because it’s adjacent to the I-75 interchange and will give easy access for farmers to get in and out with livestock.
There is no word on when the project will be complete
