HENDERSON, KY. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police are investigating after human remains were found in Henderson County.
Troopers say they were notified about the remains on Tuesday at about 3:15 p.m, after a fisherman found them on Diamond Island in the Ohio River near Geneva.
Investigators say they have confirmed that the skeletal remains are human, but have not determined that person’s identity, gender, or cause of death.
They do say that they believe the body has been there for longer than three years.
The remains have been taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office for identification, but troopers say that could take several weeks or longer to confirm.
Anyone with any information on the remains is asked to contact KSP at (271) 826-3312. Anonymous tips may also be left by calling 1-800-222-5555.
