JENSON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Dewitt mother was arrested in Bell Co. on Saturday, after deputies say she wrecked while driving under the influence with two kids in the car.
Deputies say they received a call about the accident on HWY 221 in Jenson just before 8:30 p.m. Investigators say 32-year-old Rochelle Abner had driven off the road and collided with a ditch line with her two children, ages 7 and 10, in the car.
According to deputies, Abner was given a field sobriety test, and it was determined she was under the influence. Deputies say they also discovered 23 tablets, believed to be Xanax, in her purse.
Abner was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment, DUI, and possession, among other charges.
She was taken to the Bell Co. Detention Center.
Social services were called, who placed the children with family members.
