LPD invites public to speak out at CALEA assessment

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Police Department is inviting residents of Lexington-Fayette County to speak their minds as part of an assessment from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA,) happening August 7th and 8th.

Attendees will have an opportunity to voice their opinions about their experiences, thoughts and suggestions for the Police Department as a part of the national accreditation process.

On Sunday, August 7, 2016 assessors from The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) will participate in a phone-in session, inviting residents of Lexington-Fayette County to call a hotline at 859-258-3664, anytime between the hours of 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.

On Monday, August 8, 2016 the assessors will be in person, at a special meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the Urban County Council Chamber located at 200 East Main Street.  The assessors will speak with citizens to gauge their perception of the Police Department. Citizens are invited to speak out during this event.
